TCC has a wide range of typical kayaks and canoes for standard recreational paddling. These are your typical single seater plastic kayaks and open boat canadian canoes. Kayaks are great for all round fitness and individual skill whilst the open canoes can provide a nice alternative for families and friends wanting to share the same boat.

These boats are often the first step in to the world of kayaking and canoeing and a lot of the core skills and techniques are learnt whilst paddling plastic recreational boats. We run regular courses to teach the BCU 1* and 2* skills in these craft by our highly qualified volunteer coaches. Courses will operate throughout the summer period so please have a look at our 'Courses' section on this website for further details.
The club night session for recreational boats is on a Monday night from 6:00 pm at the lake. Sessions run for around 2 hours and all equipment is provided. Once you have learnt the core skills involved in mastering these craft you can progress to other forms of the sport, including race boats or canoe polo.
TCC runs regular trips on canals, rivers and on occasion to the sea to do a bit of surf kayaking. There will be plenty of opportunities to get involved in these so what are you waiting for.
