Ten teams battled it out for the title of junior and open bellboat champions on a wonderfully sunny weekend on Trentham Lake.

The winning senior team was Dave Bradbury's 'Debonnair', beating Trentham Canoe Club's 'More of a Bus than a Coach' team.

The winning junior team was Daz Barton's junior rowers, 'Make the Change', beating the junior canoeists by a second in the final.

Many thanks to all who took part and helped ou on the day - you helped us raise over £500 for the new clubhouse. 

Hawaii Five-0 Outrigger Canoe Team Challenge

A very successful day of racing with 23 teams taking part, helping to raise over £1100 for our new clubhouse.

The winning team that helmed themselves was Tough Guys, retaining their title from last year. The winning novice team was our very own Trentham Canoe Club team and the first junior team was a Trentham Boat Club team, Make the Change.

Friday 27th June 2008 4-10pm

Land's End to John O'Groats in 6 hours... Trentham Canoe Club and friends aimed to collectively paddle 600 miles on Trentham lake in an evening raising money through two sweepstakes. We got 64% of the way there - 388 miles in total!

The male team clocked up 222 miles and the females did 162 miles. The winner of the male sweepstake was 'Brown' who correctly guessed 222. The winner of the female sweepstake was Gary Shone, whose guess of 170 miles was the closest.

Lynda Whiston completed her half-marathon 13-mile sponsored paddle for Breast Cancer Care and went on to do another lap in the outrigger, and one in a K2 - well done! Jenny Masterman and her Special Olympics paddlers completed their target of a collective 26 miles.
