BURTON CANOE CLUB
River Dove Tour – 20th & 21st March 2010
Access to this river is restricted to one weekend each year and offers an experience never to be forgotten, to any paddler making the trip for the first time. The overall trip is 11 miles, with lunch normally taken after 5 miles at the 1st weir. Water is Grade 1 to 1st weir, then Grade 1 – 2 there after.
Paddlers should arrive at the start, Aston Bridge A515 near Sudbury for 8-30 to 9am, to allow sufficient time to ferry drivers and their vehicles to the finish for the Tour to start at approx 10am. River briefing at 9.45am

Sun 25th Oct Chester Lightnings and race boat trip
Sat 31st Oct 6pm Haloween night-time paddle on the lake & BBQ. Come in fancy dress or bring a pumpkin and either wear a headtorch or glow sticks. (Inexperienced paddlers and family in bellboats/outriggers)
Sun 8th Nov 10am Shugborough loop to Wolsley Bridge (meet at the boathouse at Trentham) (Open to novices who have done at least 6 sessions on the lake or at Stone; or 3 sessions & Darlaston trip)
Sat 14th Nov Trentham Hasler marathon race. Either take part in a racing boat, Lightning or the recreational boat short race. Help needed for catering, marshalling, accompanying Lightnings etc.
Sun 6th Dec 9am River trip on the Seven at Ironbridge (recommended to have some experience on moving water before. Must have done at least 6 sessions on the lake or at Stone)
Sun 20th Dec 9.30am Pre-Christmas paddle & social on the lake
A date after Christmas (TBC) River trip to Wye/Seven/Dee with Outrigger canoes

* Night time racing training. Open to Div 8 and above and approved competent by the committee. Lower divisions by arrangement with the coach, maybe only in crew boats. Must circulate with at least another buddy. Adults Div 6 and above may circulate alone so long as someone else is on the water. Buoyancy aids must be worn regardless of division and at least one light must be put on the front of the boat/paddler
