Ian Marsden
Paracanoe Bronze Medalist
​2016 Rio Paralympics
Ian won a Bronze medal in the KL1 200m event at Paracanoe’s debut at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. He is the 2017 European silver medallist and was 4th at the World Championships the same year. He is also the 2015 European Champion and 2014 World silver medallists in K1 200m KL1.

Ian started out as an able-bodied athlete representing Team GB at Powerlifting and is a former European and World Powerlifting Champion and holder of three World Records. After a sporting accident in 1992, he became disabled and a wheelchair user.

Trentham Canoe Club played an important part …

He is now a full time athlete on the Paracanoe programme.

U12 K2 National Champion
​2017 National Marathon Championships
Elliot (pictured with his K2 partner Haydyn Cooke-Bayley from Gailey Canoe Club) is the current Under 12 K2 National Champion after competing in the 2017 National Marathon Championships held at Pangbourne in Berkshire. Elliot also took silver in the under 12 K1 in the same weekend.
